My brother's daughter posted this picture of my newest grand-nephew. She said that she read The Wonders of the Peculiar Parasol aloud to him while feeding him and that he loved it! I suspect he was enjoying his mother's milk or the sound of his voice, but reading can be magical so you never know. She also posted that he can't wait to read The Power of the Emerald Ring. Maybe I should send him a copy or maybe his grandpa should take care of that?
I will be at the Redbery Books store in Cable, WI on July 18 from 11-1 to sign copies of The Wonders of the Peculiar Parasol. Redbery Books (https://www.redberybooks.com) is a neat store in the quaint tourist town of Cable, just a few miles away from Hayward on Hwy 63 in Northern Wisconsin. The area is known for bass and musky fishing and is the home of the American Birkebeiner (a world famous cross-country skiing race). A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of hanging out with my grand-daughter, Evie, who didn't have school that day. Rather than get a sitter for her, my daughter asked if I would watch her - of course, I said yes! We watched TV most of the morning and then headed out to lunch. After lunch, we went to the library to get her a book (and she got one for her younger brother, too), but we also decided to donate a copy of the Wonders of the Peculiar Parasol.
